Grid users must sign a standard access contract or appoint an existing Access Contract Holder to gain access to the Elia grid (i.e. have the right to inject or take off energy).
Conditions to become an Access Contract Holder :
- Fill an access request form containing identification of ACH and GU, attestation of financial solvency, ID to Customer Hub, …
(see Art. 10 of the access contract and access request form) - Provide financial guarantees. The financial guarantee amounts to 1/12th of the yearly estimated access fees
(see Art. 11 and appendix 4 of the access contract. Exact computation of the financial guarantee is done by cs@elia.be) - Sign an access contract with Elia, the GU, the Balance Responsible Party (BRP) and the energy provider containing :

What is the job of the Access Contract Holder?
- Pay the access fees (and invoicing it back to the GU) (see Art. 25 of the access contract). The access tariffs and invoicing procedures can be consulted here.
- Maintain a sufficient financial guarantee with respect to the evolution of the consumption of the GU and of the tariffs.
