Exceeding the contractual offtake power is currently only applicable to the offtake power compensated by Qh (Quarter-hourly) and not to the injected power compensated by Qh. We focus on the calculation of this value, but the calculation can easily made in the same way for injection by simply replace injection timeseries instead of offtake time series.
The apparent power can be calculated as follows: S (offtake)=sqrt(P^2+Q^2)
With:
- S (offtake) = the apparent offtake power (kVA)
- sqrt = square root
- P = active power in offtake (kW)
- Q = reactive power in offtake (kVAr)
The active offtake power P from the Elia data, available in Epic, is the active “outgoing” compensated power time serie of your access point.
To calculate the reactive offtake power Q, you can simply sum the 2 reactive power compensated time series (in offtake) of your access point (capacitive outgoing + inductive outgoing).
After doing that, the calculation of the apparent power is as above explained: sqrt (P² + Q²)
The calculation can easily be done in the same way for injection by simply replacing injection time series instead of offtake time series.
