Metering data are data timeseries that indicate the amount of electricity consumed or produced for a given period.
Access to the metering data is granted for all access points for which you have an active connection contract with Elia.
Additionally, metering data can be consulted for all meters installed at connection points, production units, and any other meters that may be present within the installations (submeters and additional commercial meters).
Validation of metering data
The metering data of a given month is updated every day until the 10th calendar day of the following month. As of then, the data is deemed ‘validated by Elia’ and is no longer updated.
Data accessibility
Metering data is provided in two ways:
- Historical data: data of last days, months and years, available until 5 years back in time.
- Near-real-time data: Metering data is available a few minutes after each quarter-hour. This gives you an actual view on your electricity consumption and production, subject to data acquisition system constraints. Time Granularities: Metering data can be provided in quarter-hourly, hourly, daily, and monthly averages. Instantaneous power values are not supported. The service supports different measured properties, covering various power types, computation methods, and energy flow directions. See section measured properties. Each power value has an assigned quality factor which can be Valid, Invalid, or Substituted. Power values are provided in kW for active power, kVAr for reactive power and KVA for apparent power.
Consult your metering data
You can also easily download or consult your metering data via the EPIC portal or integrate the data directly into your own application via the metering API service on traXes.
